Also called the Zebrafish, the Zebra Danio belongs to the minnow family and is a popular resident in community tanks. These fish are native to the small streams in the southeastern region of the Himalayas, particularly India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh and Mayanmar. Zebra Danios are easily recognized by their silver, laterally compressed bodies ornamented with gold or blue stripes. Zebra Danios can also be found in fluorescent color variants like green, red and yellow under the name GloFish.
