The Green Fire Tetra originates from the Paraguay river basin in South America and can be identified by the translucent greenish body with reddish-orange on a portion of the underbelly. The male will have white on the tips of the pectoral, pelvic and dorsal fins. This species is considered a hardy species, but proper husbandry concerning water quality should not be ignored.
