Named for Francis Day, Day’s Paradise Fish is also commonly known as the Brown Spike-Tailed Paradise Fish. This nickname is derived from the light brown coloration of this species’ body in combination with the pointed dorsal and anal fins. These fins, along with the spade-shaped caudal fin, are often tipped in light blue. Day’s Paradise Fish are endemic to the Kerala state in India where they inhabit bogs, ditches and small ponds.
